Department of Paediatrics

 

The Department started functioning as a separate branch under the department of medicine led by Dr. Ricky john, pediatrician from March 2003 till December 2005
And from January 2006-December-2007 it continued without a pediatrician. From January 2008 onwards-separate pediatric services was restarted as an independent department with 2 pediatricians with Dr. Premila Doss (March2008-september 2009) Dr. Lavanya (January 2008-till date)

Functioning of outpatient:


At Karigiri from Monday to Saturday 8am to 12.30pm. Emergencies are attended at any time during non OPD hours in casualty. At PBIHC Katpadi service is available only on Thursday’s from 8.30am to 12.30pm along with the immunization clinic.


Inpatient service:



Available only at Karigiri General Paediatric services with 8 inpatients beds. Neonatal services provide routine newborn care for all in born babies. We also provide secondary level neonatal care to both in born babies and babies referred from surrounding areas. Blood transfusion and phototherapy facilities are available.

 

 

 

Immunization clinic :


At Karigiri every Wednesday morning from 8.30am to 12.30 pm. At PBIHC Katpadi every Thursday morning from 8am to 12.30pm
