Department of Medicine
History
The Department started functioning from 1955 till February 2008 medicine was under a common umbrella together with dermatology and leprosy. It was headed by Dermatologists and mainly leprosy related. post integration in1997 more of non-leprosy general medical diseases were treated both as outpatient and in-patient.since then there has been a steady increase in Non-Leprosy general medical care. However we are yet to find a suitable resident physician. From February 2008 gneral medicine was made into a separate unit dealing with Non-leprosy Medicine. majority of the cases are that of diabetes mellitus.
